Learning how the King moves
Here is a set of diagrams showing the different movements of the
King, every possible move is indicated with an arrow:

When the King is in the center of the board,
it can move to 8 different squares
|
|
When the King is in the corner it can only move to 3 different
squares.
|
As we can see from these diagrams the King can move to all adjacent
squares.
