The (TD) label on ICC is given only to certain computer programs that
direct tournaments, such as Tomato, Flash, and Slomato. With the label
comes the power to use "qtell" and several other TD-only commands, so
that these tournament bots can start appropriate games, prevent
non-tourney games, present output nicely, etc. TD accounts are
comparable in power to admin accounts.
The TD title is not given to people who direct tournaments. It is only
for officially approved and thoroughly tested tournament-directing
programs that ICC feels are needed to supply sufficient tournaments
for ICC members.
Currently we have enough tournament directing programs on ICC, and we
will not be issuing TD titles to any new programs other than ICC-developed
programs such as Tomato.
