Play in a Simul Against Anand on July 16
Super
Grandmaster Vishwanathan Anand will play his best move yet. You see, the World
Rapid Champion is also a champion of causes closer to his heart. He is a spokesperson
for Vidyasagar, a
non-profit organization that strives for inclusion of children with autism and
cerebral palsy.
You can PLAY! You can HELP!
The Internet Chess Club (ICC) is holding
an eBay
auction for ten seats in a simultaneous exhibition with Grandmaster Anand.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play the world's #2 ranked chess
player and, more importantly, to help children who are facing a much greater
challenge. All proceeds go to a wonderful
charity.
The
winning bidders, in a Dutch Auction, will earn a seat to play the Super GM on
the ICC. The approximate time control will be 90 minutes
with a 5 second increment. Seats will only be available to players rated under
2200. Participants will play with the black pieces. While he is playing on The
Internet Chess Club, Anand will simultaneously be playing 54 boards live in
the city of Chennai, India. The event takes place Saturday, July 16th, with
matches beginning at 19.30 IST (India Standard Time) / 10 a.m. ET (Eastern
Time).
We encourage those interested to visit the auction page on eBay. To merely donate, please either email ICC@chessclub.com
or call 412-521-5553. Once again, all proceeds will go towards Vidyasagar,
the non-profit organization for children with cerebral palsy.
The Internet Chess Club is itself
contributing $1,500 in cash plus free services to this fundraiser!

"They are young minds, exceptionally gifted with beautiful smiles.
I am really happy that the ICC has shown good corporate citizenship in partnering
us in this inititaive. For me it is a personal dream to see these children smile
brighter and this is the right move in that direction." — Vishwanathan
Anand
